Waste2Bench Program

  Townships, Boroughs, and other community organizations increasingly struggle funding the operational needs of the community.  Many times it is left up to grants/donations to support the beautification of public areas.  

W2B provides the vehicle for Residents and Businesses to crowdsource/purchase 100% recycled plastic benches to be installed within the Western Chester County public areas and schools.

 Large recycling operations can not process plastic bags as they require a highly manual process and most likely will clog their equipment.

It is not just grocery bags that can not be mass recycled but also bread, dog food, bird seed, Amazon, toilet paper, and paper towels bags as well. All of these non-recycled bags tend to wind up in our waterways, landfills, or along the roadways.  

 A joint venture between Eco Plastic Products of Delaware (ECOP) and Jahaco has over 10 tons (equivalent to 2,000,000 plastic bags) of plastic and the influx continues weekly.  W2B program assists in the final step of transforming this plastic into installed sustainable benches throughout the community.  Each bench removes the equivalent of 13,000 plastic bags from the community, landfills, and waterways.      

W2B allows residents of Western Chester County the ability to contribute any amount to assist in the beautification of our areas.

Each $850 raised will provide a 6 foot bench to be installed.  We are in contact with all of the local governments/organizations to determine the location and color.  100% of all funds raised will be allocated to W2B.

A crowdsourced bench will have an engraved plaque:     

"Provided by Jahaco’s “Waste2Bench” Program.

Made from the equivalent of 13,000 recycled plastic bags.  Check out Jahaco.com for more details to support or community mission." 

With W2B we wanted to also provide an avenue for local businesses or residents the ability to purchase a full bench.  In this case we will work with you to provide a plaque with company or memorial messaging.  Reach out for more details.
