Supporting Public Spaces Through Sustainable Community Involvement

Across many communities securing funding for everyday operational needs has become an increasing challenge. As budgets tighten, enhancements to public space beautification are often sidelined or rely heavily on grants and private donations to move forward.

W2B (Waste to Bench) offers a creative and impactful solution. By enabling residents and businesses to collaboratively fund the purchase of benches that are made from 100% recycled plastic.  W2B opens the community to take an active role in removing plastic from our environment while improving shared spaces. These durable, eco-friendly benches will be  installed in public areas and schools throughout Chester County, contributing to both environmental sustainability and community well-being.

Help Turn Plastic Waste into Community and Environmental Change

Plastic bags—like those from grocery stores, bread loaves, dog food, bird seed, and even Amazon packaging—CAN be recycled just not through traditional methods. These materials are too complex and costly for mass recyclers to process, often clogging equipment and forcing recycling centers to discard them. The result? Millions of plastic bags end up in our waterways, landfills, and littered along roadsides.

There is a better way.

Through the Waste to Bench (W2B) program, our goal is to continue to  transform this plastic into sustainable benches that will be installed right here in Chester County. Each bench permanently removes the equivalent of 13,000 plastic bags from the environment.  

Your contribution directly supports the collection, recycling, manufacturing, and installation of 100% recycled plastic benches for all to enjoy.

The Waste2Bench (W2B) program gives everyone in Chester County a simple, powerful way to make a real difference—by supporting the transformation of traditionally unrecyclable plastic waste into beautiful, long-lasting benches for our shared spaces.

Each $850 raised = 1 sustainable bench installed 

We’re collaborating  with local governments and organizations to select the best locations and colors, making sure every bench reflects the character of the neighborhood.

In addition to community-funded benches, local businesses and residents have the opportunity to fully sponsor a bench. Whether it’s to promote your company’s commitment to sustainability, honor a loved one, or leave a personal message of hope—your contribution will create something beautiful and lasting.

As a full bench sponsor, we’ll work directly with you to design a custom plaque featuring your business name, logo, or memorial message, creating a unique and meaningful addition to your community.  This is more than a bench—it’s your message, your mission, and your moment to give back.
