Plastic to board process

1: Collect

1: Collect

1: Collect

Collect #2, #4, and #5 plastic.  Bags, food containers, bread bags, dog food, chicken trays, milk jugs, produce bags, 5gal buckets...

2: Sort

1: Collect

1: Collect

We tend to keep #2 and #4 together and separate #5 to add into extruder.  If you have too much #5 in the mix the boards will be wavy.

3: Grind

1: Collect

3: Grind

Grind #2, #4, #5 plastic into small pieces and place in manageable bins.

4: Molds

3: Grind

You can make anything out of plastic if you have a mold for it.  We have most dimensional lumber sizes.

5: Extrude

Choose the mold and place it at the exit of the extruder.  Heat the extruder to 400+ degrees to melt but not burn the plastic.  The mold will slowly fill.

6: Cool

Place the mold with the melted plastic inside into a water bath to cool.  The size of board will determine the amount of cooling time needed.
